STRAY CATS - Lyon, France, 07-1984 (re-up)

Man, I can't believe it's been almost one year since my last post, but I'm back.
In the following weeks I'll put new shows as well as re-up dead links. Let's start with Lyon 1984, one of the last show before the first split and featuring Tommy Byrnes on second guitar.

Very strange show indeed. Listening to this one you have the strange feeling that each of them has his own solo career in mind. Some of the songs played will appear on their respective solo albums (Time is On My Hands on Phantom Rocker & Slick and Barbwire Fence on The Knife Feels Like Justice). Anyway they play some unusual songs like Elvis'Little Sister and Creedence Clearwater Revival's Hey Tonight.
The sound is not great, the show is partial (only 46 minutes) and it's one big mp3 for the entire show, but I hope you'll like it.

BRIAN SETZER - Farm Aid - Champaign Illinois - 09-22-1985

I hesitated before posting this one because of the low quality of the mp3's (the sound skips etc.). But it can interest some of you and "Maria" is one of the best Setzer song from that era.

THE TOMCATS - demos

These are early demos recorded by Setzer, Phantom & Rocker. The date muste be sometime around late 1979/early 1980. DId they still name themselves The Tomcats or were they already the Stray Cats, not sure, but I guess they took the name Stray Cats after moving to England.

Demos

STRAY CATS - Olympia Theatre, Paris, France - 5-01 -1981 (5pm show)

First of the 2 shows played that day (the second was performed at 9pm).
During Rock This Town, someone threw a bolt at Brian, which led the band to stop the song.
If you compare to what happened during the last tour, it seems that the French like to throw things at Setzer. Strange.
Great version of Chuck Berry's Little Queenie by the way...
